Science-Based Interviewing is a research-based course designed to equip those who do investigations and inquiries. It will equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct effective and ethical interviews that are proven to collect more information, every time. Taught by experienced law enforcement detectives and leaders, this course combines validated research and practice to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the latest techniques and best practices in investigative interviewing.

Our curriculum is NOT a "system" or a step-by-step process to interviewing that, anecdotally, always works every time almost every time. Those "systems" do not work because that is not how human interaction or memory works. Our process is a constellation of core communication standards derived from empirically validated studies and proven effective in the most sensitive and high-profile investigations. Simply put, our techniques work; we know because we've used them. And it is not just an opinion: it's validated research.
With over forty years of successful experience leading and investigating homicides, special victim crimes, gun violence, and human trafficking, our instructors have worked the hardest cases and done the tough interviews. Our courses are taught by experienced investigators and interviewers, who have done the work. They will teach you the craft of investigative interviewing, not those unvalidated and poor-performing "tricks of the trade."
